Always display what folder an email is located
- Nov 13, 2024
ccodreanu New Outlook and web versions display the folder location and category with search or category results. This functionality has been available for quite some time.

Gordon, I have found it only appears if you are doing a search in "All Outlook Items" only. Very frustrating that it just won't always work for any kind of search!
Judy
Thanks Judy. Search All Outlook Items isn't in the search dropdown in my Outlook. How would I do that?

In the Window called "field chooser" there is an unlabeled dropdown menu that defaults to "Frequently-used Fields". If you click on the "Frequently-used Fields" selection you should see other options, including "All Outlook Items".
You may have to scroll to see "All Outlook Items". The UI has a Windows 3.1 feel to it, and the navigation is not obvious.
(not Judy, but hopefully this helps). If you are sure it's not there in the full desktop Outlook client, then I don't know what to tell you.- Gordon_LambDec 01, 2025Copper Contributor
To be clear, I am talking about "New Outlook 365" on a Windows 11 platform. I found this link so it appears I am not the only one having this issue.

Darn, sorry about that. OP's question was not answered by my response, please see updated version information. (I want any future reader to see that important point). Hopefully someone else can help. Good luck.
