adding a new tab (with drop-box options) to the Outlook ribbon
I have recently added a new tab (called Email Templates) to my Outlook ribbon ...
I currently have two template emails (called 'Email Lesson Plans' and 'Expecting Poor Result') added to that new tab, however they are presenting side-by-side in the ribbon ...
Is there a way to be presented as drop-box options, similar to how some other ribbon tabs present their contents ...
Very kind regards,
Chris Jamieson
Jammo3741 The only way to add commands as a menu is by creating a custom toolbar using developer tools. Walkthrough: Create a custom tab by using Ribbon XML - Visual Studio | Microsoft Docs
Hi Chris,
I can see how adding subgroups can be useful to customized ribbons. I completed a test and got the same results as you. I tried:- adding multiple commands with the hope I get the subgroup option;
- Selecting a group then choosing to Add a group
- Selecting a group then indenting and tabbing
No luck to all the above.
I also researched the web and did not find any information on this topic. My conclusion is adding subgroup requires a developer and/or reserved to the Microsoft preset commands only.
Good luck.
