Sharing Content

Good Day

Fairly new to OneDrive for Business so thank you for bearing with me.  Just wanted to better understand the link sharing behavior.  I have a colleague who shared a document in her personal Onedrive for Business.  The share link capability was leveraged and I got edit rights.  I can in turn if I wanted to, in also sharing that same document with someone else and grant read or edit rights.  I wanted to confirm this is the expected outcome.  Once you share a file via the share link, there is nothing stopping others in "re-sharing" the file that you may not want necessary others to see.  What would be a good approach to prevent people you shared a file in OneDrive in not "re-sharing" or/granting access to other people?
