Photos App - OneDrive Memories does not work
- May 01, 2026
I have followed the steps found at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/using-samsung-gallery-with-onedrive-99c4e77b-8e63-4ddc-aede-19f81acee1a3
Under the section To disconnect your Samsung Gallery from OneDrive are the steps needed.
Quick question first: are you signed into the Photos app with a personal Microsoft account (outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com) or a work/school account?
Memories only works with personal OneDrive accounts. Work accounts show folders but Memories is disabled by design.
If it is personal, try this:
- Go to onedrive.com and sign in
- Click Settings (gear icon) then Options
- Look for Notifications and make sure "On This Day" is enabled
- In the Photos app, sign out completely then sign back in
Let me know which account type you're using and we can narrow it down from there.

Hi
Yes, it is a personal Microsoft account (outlook.com).
The "On This Day" option was already enabled
There is no sign out option in the Photos app.
What I have tried is:
- Turn off the "On This Day" option
- Turn on the "On This Day" option
The above did not help so also tried to:
- Reset the Photos app (to simulate a sign out and sign back in)
- Opened the Photos app and attempted to login again but it still did not work.
- Unlinked OneDrive in the OneDrive app and then signed back in after Restarting my device.
This also did not work.
