Permissions

There was a OneDrive update for Mac that happened in the background (not initiated by me) where the icon changed. Since then, I'm unable open or save any files via Finder. I can't figure out how to fix it. Please help.

  • This can happen after major OneDrive updates when Apple’s security system blocks the new version from accessing your files until permissions are re-granted. The easiest fix is to go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access and make sure OneDrive is turned on. Then, check Files and Folders and Automation sections too, OneDrive should have permission to access Finder and the folders you’re syncing. If it still won’t open files, try quitting OneDrive completely, restarting your Mac, and then reopening it. You may also need to sign out and sign back into OneDrive so macOS recognizes it as a verified app again. Once permissions are reset, everything should work normally again.
