sorry to say no help, but asking - how even activate that feature? Can it be done on Win11 somewhere??!

Carbonze, it is OneDrive's feature. You can go to OneDrive online in any browser (onedrive.live.com), find settings (right upper corner) and then enable the "options/Photos/Use AI to find and organize photos" option. Give it couple of days after that and then get back online and check results in Photos/People.

Is it expected that all data will now be clouded? (I'm struggling to figure how to cope within win11! ( ... apologies for asking questions beyond your post, but it was a start ..)
- sergeygeMay 23, 2024Copper ContributorCarbonze, I have vague recollection that old Photos application did nave this feature, and it was killed in the newer version of the app which is shipped wit Win11. I think that you are right, and now it is expected that photo collection is stored in the cloud... it gives too many benefits for sharing it between devices and maintenance costs.
