No Wiki app in Microsoft Teams Public Preview
The Microsoft Teams Public Preview application seems to be missing the Teams Wiki app. In February 2023's SharePoint Roadmap Pitstop, the following was stated:
Microsoft Teams: Wiki retirement and the future of note taking in Teams Channels
We are announcing that Wiki's will be retired from Teams. We are offering note taking capabilities through Teams Channels powered by OneNote.
With this release, users have an option to export their wiki content to OneNote notebooks in Teams standard channel. After exporting, users can go to the Notes tab to collaborate using OneNote in channels. Note: With this change users can continue to access and edit existing wikis but can’t create new wikis in Teams channels.
Will Team's Wikis still be accessible in the new Microsoft Teams Windows app?
- TobiasATSteel ContributorI assume no. Since March you get a hint to convert the old Wikis to OneNote. Also, Microsoft updated the timeline until when the old Wikis are deprecated. TobiasAT hopefully someone from Microsoft support can clarify because as stated in my question, the announcement is clear that Wikis would still be accessible (even if deprecated). If they aren't going to be accessible in the latest versions of Teams, then this statement is entirely inaccurate.
