Unable to delete a private channel

We also faced this issue as our tenant has applied retention policy for all Sharepoint online sites. We are now verifying if we can delete the private channel when this retention policy is disabled.
zhiyuan024 Am having the same issue, so will also need to check our retention policy, does see buggy though. I am at a meeting with Microsoft on Monday, and was going to raise this direct with them on site

Sandra Elliott We have resolved this locally now. It is linked to the Sharepoint/Onedrive and Exchange online retention policy, which is on by default. We have changed the Sharepoint retention policy, and can now successfully delete private channels
