"There was a problem saving the photo. Please try again."
- Sep 21, 2020
OrlaJoan Hi, wow this conversation is massive. I wonder if all are having identical issues with the photo. Must be that similar has been merged into this one.
Anyway, for the record. Something that can affect is the following.
"Teams users with mailboxes hosted on premises must be synchronized to Azure Active Directory. They can change the user profile picture providing Exchange Server 2016 (Cumulative Update 3), or above, is running on-premises."
'Change your picture in Teams'
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-your-picture-in-teams-7a711943-9248-420e-b814-c071aa8d9b9c
See the table with "User's mailbox is hosted in" and the "Modify user profile picture" to see if you should be able to do it.
'How Exchange and Microsoft Teams interact'
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/exchange-teams-interact
Note the 7 disclaimer as well.
"Teams honors the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/client-access/set-owamailboxpolicy setting that's configured by tenant admins to control whether users can change their profile picture. If the -SetPhotoEnabled setting is turned off in the policy, users cannot add, change, or remove their profile picture."
I'm having the same issue. Tried everything mentioned above (changing file formats, resolutions etc, uploading through web app). Didn"t help(
Asked for help in Teams Community in Facebook, sent feedback through the desktop app. No result.
I'm also having the same issue. Tried desktop and online and various sizes. Only when the image was too low of a resolution did I get a different message.

SherJackson Could you please attach the image that was accepted by the system?

volgawelt Sorry if I mislead you ... it still doesn't work. When I tried a lower resolution picture I got an error that the resolution was too low. For me, I have 2 organizations I belong to so the one already had a picture before I joined Teams (from my Office365) but the other organization doesn't show a picture and that is the one I cannot attach it to.

Forget any advanced feature … Post after post about people not being able TO CHANGE PROFILE PICTURE! And the error has not yet been fixed! I can't change my profile picture neither. My first taste of https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/microsoftteams?source=feed_text&epa=HASHTAGMicrosoftTeams.
Nice.
