Temas chat history missing
Hi.
In my org we heave no retention policy for Teams messaging. Although users cannot find chats older than 2-3 months. Even if they search it by chat search it's not available. What can be the problem?

Why Jason? Im a user and was just in contact with our IT department because I spent a lot of time finding an old chat.... They told me its by design... but this design needs to be changed! Can you push for a change here?
Even without a retention policy, Teams only displays chats from the past 60 days in the recent list by design. The older chats aren’t deleted — they’re just hidden unless you search for them or reopen the conversation manually. It’s worth checking Purview too, just in case there’s a hidden policy in effect.
