Teams stuck in "Loading latest updates..." error

I'm experiencing the same issue even in 2025. I have closed and reopened the app multiple times, but it has been recurring.

    I am also experiencing this in Dec 2025. It has been ongoing for months. Randomly teams will show this banner, get stuck, and not allow me to send messages (I can type and hit send, but the circle next to the messages stays empty). I am on a work laptop running Windows 11 Enterprise. Is there any solution that works? I have tried restarting, going to Microsoft Settings > Installed Apps > Microsoft Teams > Repair AND Reset. The issue may fix for a couple minutes, but always comes back. Nothing is working.

    The same thing is happening to me as well. it already 2025 and the issue is still there.
    Multiple restart and still not resolve.

      Do you have a password to access your computer? I didn’t and I was getting the same error in Teams. Try setting a password to access your computer.
