Teams contacts synch
is it still a "known issue" that both local Teams and web Teams contacts don't synch completely with Outlook contacts, web or local? Seem to be a lot of posts and no solutions over the years. Mic...

Yeah, this is not working as people are used to really when it comes to contacts. First of all, you need some prerequisites to access the Outlook contacts and you can see the table here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/exchange-teams-interact with the disclaimer "6 Only contacts in default contacts folder. Access to other contacts folders or sub-folders is not supported."
But still, it's not an exact process so sometimes it requires you to do some manual work adding them, i.e. adding/updating info in the Outlook contacts and save, sign out / back in from Teams etc.

turns out that Outlook must have the "name" field populated for Teams to find a contact by name. Wierd. After populating that, have to wait an hour or a lot more and then can search via Teams.

1. a speed dial that worked three days ago, now dials a totally unknown number consistently that's not in Outlook. Deleted it and tried to re add using exact same "name" and got an error " we didn't find any matches. Ask admin about expanding the scope of your search" . The Outlook contact hasn't changed.
2. if I create some speed dial folders and try to add any contact, get the same "we didn't find any matches....."
