Quote messages in private conversations
How can I refer to a message within a private conversation?
I'm looking for a WhatsApp functionality of "Reply".
Not possible today! There is a uservoice for this and it's actually in "planned" status!
I'd suggest to go vote for it

One way to Quote some one or use it to reply to a message is to
1) Copy the text message , for which you want to reply
2) Type you reply
3) Shift + < , this gives you a block to insert text
4) Paste the text you copied in step 1
It should look something like this
Hope that helps.
Cheers,

Microsoft
I didn't have luck with this method. Is it only for mobile?

Hi
Looks like there is an add-on in Microsoft AppSource that does the trick:
https://appsource.microsoft.com/en/product/office/WA200000285 - In the mean time get friendly with a snipping tool. I find that the easiest since it’s so easy to just snip the chat. Copy and paste right inline if your conversation.

adam deltinger Hi! Although it currently isn't available on desktop app, it is on the mobile app and works exactly like whatsapp, in that you swipe across to quote message and reply 🙂
