Impact of deleting a channel

I created a recurring Teams meeting via Outlook. In my Team I have a channel for the meeting and have added the invite in the channel as an announcement. I get some messages in the chat and some messages in the channel which makes the communication a little messy and unorganized. What I want to do is delete the channel completely but I'm afraid it will mess up my invite and meeting chat. Can anyone tell me that If I delete the channel, my meeting will still be there and the chat will remain intact?
