i can paste text into teams chat in webapp but not in teams desktop app
i can paste text into teams chat in web app but not in teams desktop app even if i type in notepad and try and copy and paste it does not work.

Known issue that copy and paste is temperamental in the Teams client. There is a uservoice on it. Microsoft have been working on it for some time

Would recommend you vote to push it up the agenda. Voting will also track the status of the uservoice so once done, you will be notified.
Others on here may suggest workarounds, however this needs to natively work with workaround across web, desktop and mobile clients. A lot are getting frustrated with this as shown on the uservoice so community needs to crank up the noise on it
