Hyperlink to start Teams chat with external user

 Hi guys,

I have found the following site: https://www.msoutlook.info/question/teams-chat-link-in-email-signature#:~:text=Creating%20a%20chat%20link%20with%20a%20Teams%20icon&text=Optionally%2C%20type%20some%20text%20such,a%20chat%20session%20on%20Teams. that outlines how to set up a hyperlink to start a chat with an individual, however it only seems to work for users in your tenant.

Is anyone else having the same prob or is there an alternative?

    If you have external chat setup and it’s not working. You can always utilize sip protocol to send chats. Pretty sure this works. Similar to mailto:user@domain.com you use sip:user@domain.com
