How to use a Code to join a Team, don't get the second tile to join with a code

I don't get the second tile to join a Team with a Code.  Our principal has given a code to parents and asked to join a Team.  But I only get the option (tile) of 'Create a Team' when I click on the 'Join or Create a Team' link at the bottom left side panel.  Can someone help.
