Guests Privilege with microphone .

When i was having a meeting , i found that the guests have the abilities to not allow the other attendees to unmute their microphone. And that's make the privilege of the guests able to stop the meeting by blocking every voice .Does anyone have The same problem ?

  • Ayoub2265  The ability to 'hard' mute others requires the user to have the organiser or presenter roles.

The default is set in the Teams Admin Centre under Teams Meeting policies under the 'Roles that have the presenter rights'. See screenshot below.

If the response is set to 'Everyone but user can override' then guests who join the meeting will have presenter rights which allow them to hard mute others.

    Your options are either to:

    1. change the Teams meeting policy setting to Everyone in organisation but user can override' This means guests will join as Attendees so cannot mute others.
    2. or if this restriction only applies to a few meetings then the meeting organiser can change the configure of a meeting and stop guests being a presenter by selecting the Meeting Options in the meeting invite (From Teams or Outlook invite) and change the Presenter option
