Chatting during Microsoft Teams meeting
Hello! I will have an online session with about 200 students. Do all of them have access to chatting with me during the meeting or there is a limitation to it? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
All participants have access to the chat. You can mute the chat for a meeting if you want to, but that will only stop notifications from the meeting chat. They will still be able to chat with you in the meeting.

LinusCansby if it is a channel meeting then the channel's moderation setting apply, so for example you could prevent students from chat while still allowing Teachers to use it.

Will anyone of the 200 students be able to chat with me at anytime during the meeting or only limited number?

- Apr 01, 2020If chat is allowed, AFAIK there are not limits in regards of how many people can actually chat
- eelliottApr 01, 2020Copper ContributorWe had a meeting yesterday of 50+ people and only some of them had access to the feature during the call. Many of us did not (even though we have it available on smaller calls.) We couldn't figure out why it applied to some and not others, so my assumption is that there is a quantity cap?
