Can't set my avatar
Are you talking about the Teams avatar, or your profile pic? The latter is subject to restrictions imposed by admin, as Tony details here: https://office365itpros.com/2020/04/15/block-teams-users-changing-their-photos-ending-meetings/
Other than that, there are few ongoing issues with the teams APIs currently, which might be the cause as well.

I checked the link you sent, but I don't run an OWA server, and i've logged in using my existing outlook.com account. I can set & update my avatar on outlook.com & office365, but I can't do it here.

sazary You are not alone, check this thread to keep everything at the same place. Write in that thread about your problem so MS can see it is larger than for just one person.
