After installing Teams, Microphone volume bounces

I installed Teams on a new laptop with Windows 10.  After installation, I see the microphone volume jumps directly between 42, and 73 every 1-2 seconds.  It seems something is fighting for control of the microphone volume. 

 The microphone works fine while using GoTo meeting and Zoom, just not Teams.  

 I have unchecked the option to Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.  But this did not help.  I have also tried several other common sense things, like updating drivers, etc.

 Any help would be appreciated.
