Folder within a Folder
Is there a reason why you can't link to videos from a folder within a folder using the new Stream on SharePoint addin??
For example, I created a folder called Test Vid and placed a video in it, this was then successfully linked to the add-in and displayed on the page. I then created a sub folder called Test and added another video which was unsuccessful when trying to link to the add in.
I get an error stating:
When we migrated all our videos over they were created in Sub Folders that were named the same as the channel they came from. So I have been unable to update the pages with the new add-in.
If this is not possible, I am going to have to create a lot of folders at the root level to manage the different video channels.

This scenario is working for us, and we cannot reproduce at our end. Do reach out to us in case the issue persists.
We would also display files in the folder picker to avoid confusion and this work would be prioritized in the next semester. - karen_dredskeSteel ContributorWhen you say you are linked to an "add-in and displayed on the page" are you referring to the Stream web part that you are adding to a SharePoint web page? I assume you are. I was able to successfully navigate to a subfolder and, although the web part said there was nothing there to show. . . . I still selected the folder and the video shows up in the web part as I expected.
The image that you are displaying would indicate that someone has either changed the name of the video that you configured the web part to look in, or that folder was moved or deleted. Did you configure the web part and after that move the folder? If so, then you need to go back in and re-configure the web part to point to the folder with the new name or same name but new location.- DaveJH-RailpenCopper ContributorApologies, I've only just got back round to looking in to this issue.
The folder was newly created and content uploaded for testing prior to using the Stream on SharePoint web part.
If the video sits in a folder called Test, then it works. If I then try to point at a sub folder Test\Test Vid then I get the error that it can't find the video.
I really don't want to have multiple video folders at the root level, also there is no option to use a Meta tag to filter the videos. I have spent a lot of time tagging the videos for what they relate to i.e. DE&I, News, Town Halls.
Ideally I want to point the Stream on SharePoint web part to the Videos Folder and then use the Tag to filter for the content relevant to that page.
Personally I find this implementation a massive backwards step, as with Stream Classic we had Channels that could be easily surfaced on the relevant Intranet page, now it's just a mess with us having to link to each video individually!- karen_dredskeSteel ContributorNote that when I did the same thing, I saw a message that said it couldn't find videos, but then when I saved it anyway. . . the videos that I knew were there appeared.
If you have tagged all of your videos, have you considered using the Highlighted Content web part to display the videos? You can easily filter on the metadata you have tagged your content with. The display isn't the same as the Stream web part, but you will be able to do the filtering and the display isn't bad at all. There are new, inline player formats for the Highlighted Content web part that we are hoping will be out within a month or so also.
