Folder within a Folder
Is there a reason why you can't link to videos from a folder within a folder using the new Stream on SharePoint addin?? For example, I created a folder called Test Vid and placed a video in it, t...

Apologies, I've only just got back round to looking in to this issue.
The folder was newly created and content uploaded for testing prior to using the Stream on SharePoint web part.
If the video sits in a folder called Test, then it works. If I then try to point at a sub folder Test\Test Vid then I get the error that it can't find the video.
I really don't want to have multiple video folders at the root level, also there is no option to use a Meta tag to filter the videos. I have spent a lot of time tagging the videos for what they relate to i.e. DE&I, News, Town Halls.
Ideally I want to point the Stream on SharePoint web part to the Videos Folder and then use the Tag to filter for the content relevant to that page.
Personally I find this implementation a massive backwards step, as with Stream Classic we had Channels that could be easily surfaced on the relevant Intranet page, now it's just a mess with us having to link to each video individually!

Note that when I did the same thing, I saw a message that said it couldn't find videos, but then when I saved it anyway. . . the videos that I knew were there appeared.
If you have tagged all of your videos, have you considered using the Highlighted Content web part to display the videos? You can easily filter on the metadata you have tagged your content with. The display isn't the same as the Stream web part, but you will be able to do the filtering and the display isn't bad at all. There are new, inline player formats for the Highlighted Content web part that we are hoping will be out within a month or so also.

- DaveJH-RailpenOct 24, 2023Copper ContributorThank you for the reply.
I'm working through testing the Highlighted Content part this afternoon. 🙂
Initial investigation shows that this may work for us, just waiting to see if it picks up all of the videos. So far its found 4 of my 8 videos tagged as DE&I, so finger crossed it will pick up the rest of them shortly.- karen_dredskeOct 24, 2023Steel Contributor
DaveJH-Railpen - I just posted this in another thread thinking I was responding to you. You CAN use the Stream web part to display your videos. Give this a try:
I also get the message that nothing exists BUT it actually DOES work. Here I navigated to a subfolder.
Notice that the Select button allows me to select it. So I did.
Then in the edit pane, I can see the path to that folder. It then displays and matches what I selected.
The web part then displays the video(s) in the web part that I selected.
Republish and all is well. Give it a try.
