Legacy certifications still active

Hi

I found it strange that for example below certification is in "active" state:

Certification number: AA430E-VD6600

Microsoft® Certified Technology Specialist: Windows Server 2008 R2, Desktop Virtualization

Earned on April 4, 2012

• Does Microsoft ever clean up?
• Fundamentals are "life long" (which is also strange), but this was back then a technical / role based certification

I really think it should be "retired", so profiles / transcripts are cleaned and fresh :)
