Why is Microsoft doing this? Do we have an official response? This was a useful app that is now rendered useless that is not supporting WSUS updates. This is a joke! Get your priorities together Microsoft. Stop breaking good 'WINDOWS" experiences with your horrible store, no one wants it, that is why we are on WINDOWS!
This is one of the worse implementations they have done, maybe only topped by Windows 8....Most corps do not even allow windows store, we don't and updating this to the store is the worst. It doesn't even remove the old version which makes it even more confusing for users.
Better yet I don't know why the remote function was not built into teams, seems like a easy enough solution to implement.

- Fully agree. Like so many other corps, our company has no intention whatsoever to enable access to Microsoft Store. So the only solution is to find an alternative to Quick Assist.
I noticed that too but on there site (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/install-quick-assist-c17479b7-a49d-4d12-938c-dbfb97c88bca) it now says this..
"This issue has been fixed with the new version release. If you are currently running version 2.0.6.0 or higher you will no longer see two icons.
If the old app icon is still showing on your device, be sure to select the new app icon. After the Store app is launched once the shortcuts for the old app should be removed automatically."
So I it takes opening the new one, which for my users shows in a white box, the it is supposed to remove it. Or at least once they are on that version of Quick Assist.
