Microsoft Word crashes whenever I try to open my macros

I had the same problem with Outlook on 2401. It took me several days, but I discovered that when I removed stdole2.tlb from my references, the problem went away for me. The hard part was figuring out how to remove the tlb since I could open VBA. The trick was to go to the trust center and disable all macros. Once I did that, I could open VBA and edit my code and settings to remove stdOle2.tlb.
