What version of Outlook is needed or Microsoft Copilot?
I thought I read it would need the new Outlook. Can anyone confirm this?

I really hope Microsoft strongly considers bringing this to the Win32 Outlook client. A lot of Copilot's value is for business users and the same group of users extensively use add-ins (not all of which are yet modernized). They will not use the new Outlook for this reason and look and feel.

That would require back porting code. Unless they see a huge uptick in purchases with Win32, I think you will not see it in that version. The goal is to move forward, and this is another way to move the needle.

You cannot take away features and then expect customers to make the jump and "live with it". In some ways the two versions of Outlook desktop are reminiscent of OneNote and we know how that was a fiasco.

Was testing Copilot so switched to new Outlook then missed a meeting because the new Outlook doesn't play event reminder notifications sounds. Popup presented under another tile but no even reminder sound. There's a box to play sounds but no sound plays and no obvious way to change or add a .wav file.
