Thank you very much for the information.
However, if Copilot would war the useres lets say 3-5 turns before the end, this would give the user a chance to produce a summary to feed into a new chat and after getting started there, perhaps even deleting the previous chat. But just lettibg the usee run into a dead end is absolutely not charming.
But I love Copilot and seen it getting better and greater, so I do believe it should soon offer some type of elegant way to come to an end within a chat.
I cannot tell even begin to tell you how much I agree right now. I'm livid that a conversation about a project I've been working on for the past week has ceased to allow further conversation. The fact that I cannot get a summary to minimally input into another conversation is unfathomable much less receiving ZERO warning. It's beyond frustrating..... It's work-impeding. I appreciate the knowledge for the answer above and I implore MS to listen to the noise around them. Minor thing in this case but one could only hope for improvement.
also, sometimes i use what i call helper sessions, where i open a new chat for a brief back and forth that is helpful in the moment but not necessary in the main session i am working on. for example, when i am working on excel macros, if i become curious about something or need to trouble shoot something, i will typically open a new session and address it there, then return to the main session once my concerns or curiosity has been resolved.
this also helps keep the main session focused on the task at hand rather than risking stretching copilot's contextual focus across multiple concepts that you personally do not need it to juggle.if it went on so long you got locked out, try copying and pasting the largest coherent chunks of the session as you can into another session, one at time, and have that new session summarize each one. as long as you can copy and paste the session, in part of whole, you aren't stuck.
