PowerPoint Frontier Agent Missing on Web and Not Working on Desktop

Hi everyone,
I’m seeing inconsistent availability of Frontier agents across Microsoft 365 apps and wanted to check whether others are experiencing the same.

  • Excel (web) → Frontier agent available
  • Word (web) → Frontier agent available
  • PowerPoint (web) → Frontier agent missing
  • PowerPoint (desktop) → Frontier agent appears, but does not generate any text. The panel keeps loading indefinitely..

I’ve confirmed I’m on Microsoft 365 Premium and using the Beta Channel.

Is this a known rollout gap, or is there something I should check on my end?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

  • hi prashj You’re not alone ,this looks very much like a rollout inconsistency, not a misconfiguration on your side.

Frontier agents are being enabled per app and per surface, and PowerPoint is clearly lagging Word and Excel right now. What you’re seeing matches what others have reported:

    • PowerPoint on the web: Frontier agent not exposed yet for many tenants
    • PowerPoint desktop (Beta Channel): UI shows up, but the backend capability isn’t fully wired, which causes the infinite loading / no output behavior

Being on M365 Premium + Beta Channel is necessary, but unfortunately not sufficient now ,feature flags are still being lit up gradually.

Things you can double-check (mostly for completeness):

    • Make sure PowerPoint desktop is on the latest Beta build (not just Beta Channel)
    • Sign out/in once after updates (sometimes helps pick up new service flags)
    • Test in a different tenant/user if you have access (helps confirm it’s not user-scoped)

That said, there’s nothing obvious to “fix” locally. This is almost certainly a known gap in the current Frontier rollout for PowerPoint, especially compared to Word/Excel.

    Best next steps:

Keep an eye on Message Center / M365 Roadmap updates for Copilot + Frontier in PowerPoint

If it’s business-critical, log feedback via Help → Feedback in PowerPoint so it gets tied to your tenant

looks like it is a rollout gap, not you.
