Copilot on Word App on iPad - how to turn off?
I’ve managed to turn the wretched thing off on Word on my desktop and laptop after updating to latest versions and the “disable co-pilot “ checkbox finally appearing in settings.
but how on earth do I turn it off on my iPad as it doesn’t have a whole load of settings for the app?
I have office 365 personal subscription.

Here's how to get rid of the stinking Copilot poop emoji that follows you around in Word (365 for Mac)—and save yourself $30 to boot! The option to turn it off does NOT exist in Word version 16.93 (25011212) Preferences. Turning off Connected Experiences does NOT remove it. After over an hour of frustrating chatting with M$ I was finally offered the solution: 1) Manage your subscription to Office 365; 2) Select CANCEL; 3) Choose Classic subscription for the old price of $69.99; 4) Restart Mac TWO TIMES; 4) Launch Word and go to Preferences, where the CoPoop option now appears; 5) Deselect it. You are now free of CoPoop and have saved $30.
Please be sure to inform M$ of how much you appreciate having Clippy 2.0 shoved down your throat with a 50% price increase and no simple way to remove it!

Thanks Onthefly for revealing the option to downgrade to Classic. I went ahead and did that. However, this doesn't apply to the inability to turn it off on the iPad app, and all you have to do to get rid of Copilot on the desktop app is update it to the latest version and then deselect it as you pointed out.
Unfortunately this also doesn't cancel the current subscription, only when it's time for you to re-subscribe. I don't see an option to immediately downgrade my current subscription. Might have to go through support for that.

I’ve found a way to disable its use and features, but unfortunately not the icon popping up at the side. Settings cog on left sidebar as you go onto the app > Privacy Settings > Analyse Content.
Although, this potentially turns a lot of features off (listed in the link below the feature switch) so may not be that useful. Super annoying, everything should be opt-in only! - SandySCopper Contributor
Yes, please, will someone from Microsoft (or elsewhere) please help us with this? I can no longer use Word on my iPad Pro because the Copilot icon keeps flashing in the left-hand margin every time I hit Return to go to a new paragraph.

For the love of God, yes. They actually think that putting a copilot icon on every single line you type is a good thing. Get rid of this junk, MS. I don't care how much money you've sunk into it. It's obtrusive and makes me less productive.
