Copilot Legal Agent in Microsoft Word

The Legal Agent has not been documented as withdrawn. Microsoft’s current support page still lists it as a Frontier preview in Word desktop, but the prerequisites are narrower than a “Premium” Copilot subscription. Confirm that the user has an active Microsoft 365 Copilot license, Frontier is enabled for the tenant and the administering account, and Word is version 2604 or later. Fully close Word, reopen it, open Copilot, and check the Agents menu for “Legal Agent (Frontier).” It is not distributed through the Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Store, so absence there is expected. Because you work across tenants, repeat these checks in the exact tenant currently signed into Word and remove unrelated cached Office accounts for the test. If it remains absent, capture the tenant ID, user principal name, Word version/channel, license assignment, and Frontier status, then open a Microsoft 365 support case. Preview availability can change by tenant.
