Can Microsoft 365 Copilot use SharePoint pages and news to generate answers?

You're right, currently SharePoint Copilot chat functionality doesn't directly access information from SharePoint pages and news posts. While there's no official announcement on a specific date, there is some discussion about including this functionality in the future.

Hey Chris, even if I search for a specific news message on our Intranet, where I have access, Copilot cannot find it or is referring to documents instead.
If I just use our SharePoint search, then I get the message right away.

- Interesting. It should access what you have access to in OneDrive + SharePoint. I have had it reference things from SharePoint before. Perhaps an admin has enabled some level of restricted SharePoint search or there are sensitivity labels at play?
- I tried it with a colleague and we have to explicitly say to search in SharePoint.
