Word crashing when opened from SharePoint

Hi, all.

I have a library in SharePoint with Word docs.  When a few of my people open a document from it in the desktop version of Word, it crashes when they click "Enable Editing".

This seems to happen only to people using Surface Pros.

Any insight will be appreciated.
