Why does the OneNote W10 App keep failing to paste from my clipboard?

I've never seen an app fail to paste from my clipboard quite like OneNote...  what is happening here?

• Happens with images and text
• When I close and re-open the app, I can paste again, but only once
• The Web app seems to let me do this just fine (for the most part)

Am I doing something to "break" this app?
