When Excel couldn't save a file, 3E0CF950.MACTF was created, but where and by which program?

Hi, I had the same issue. I fixed the problem by restarting my computer with reopen files selected. Was then able to save to where I wanted without a problem. Can be hard to have enough faith in doing this when you have an unsaved file... but worked for me.
