Search in OneNote for Windows 10 UWP - In the cloud?

Does search for OneNote for Windows 10 (UWP) happen in the cloud or in a local file?

 

Search has become flaky in OneNote for Windows 10 (UWP). If I can troubleshoot/resolve by looking at a Repair or Reset of the UWP app (Search is local) but if search happens in the cloud (SharePoint?) well I won't mess with a Repair/Reset.
