Please add Markdown support
They created Loop with markdown features, just add it to onenote!!

Loop doesn't help at all unfortunately. Firstly, Loop adds more complexity, Markdown is ment to reduce it. Secondly, Loop isn't free as OneNote is.
Loop has undoubtedly its perks and pluses, but just for the sake of supporting Markdown it isn't worth it imho. Now it seems that Micro$oft wants to push Loop and neglects OneNote. Proprietary PKMS doesn't cut it anymore for me personally. I'm using simple Markdown text files for now. They can be opened and rendered with a lot of FOSS, can be versioned with git and are compatible with GitHub, GitLab and Gitea.
I loved OneNote once but left it for good and never looked back. But I get notified via email on this thread and reply from time to time.

I would really much rather use Git and native Markdown files too, but the big problem I have is all the content I already have in OneNote :/
I have attempted to find a utility that would allow me to export my notebooks, but I keep running into PowerShell errors when trying it.
Do you happen to know of a solution to export large amounts of pages from OneNote? (Even to .txt or something would be fine with me, and I can start to add the Markdown over time as I go through it.)

I don't see an option to do this on Mac... Also it looks like A LOT of overhead to have to add components anywhere you want markdown to render.
Microsoft should really just take 1 developer or something have them make Markdown native to OneNote
