OneNote vs. OneNote for Windows 10
Just a follow-up to my previous comment. In the last couple of days, Microsoft added an additional annoying 'nag' banner, more prominent than the 'nag' banner I previously mentioned.
It would appear that Microsoft prefers to further alienate their long-time customer base by 'forcing' them onto the new version, whether or not it's suitable for their situations. What a cynical exercise! Making the old version of your notebook read-only! Looks like I'll need to look for a similar product from another vendor after October. ðŸ˜
Just an update to my previous comment, after the October 14, 2025 'deadline'. I've reached a compromise solution by uninstalling 'OneNote for WIndows 10' and just using the browser interface to OneNote. It's way more clunky than the desktop version but leaves a far less intrusive (IMO) processing footprint on my local machine. On the plus side, it's still able to access my 'old', extant notebook on OneDrive with read and edit capabilities. Similarly with the app version on my Android device. It also has retained read and write access to my 'old' notebook. Fortunately, I'm not a 'power' OneNote user so, although less amenable, the clunkiness is tolerable for my limited needs. 🙄
