OneNote vs. OneNote for Windows 10
I will mostly miss the Recent Notes feature, and a bit how the search results a listed on OneNote for Win10, but it does feel like the search in the current OneNote is faster and more robust (e.g. "Recent picks" list works well enough for me as replacement for the Recent Notes feature).
But largely, I'm okay with this... because I recall being seriously put off by the, then, NEW OneNote for Win10 when it was introduced by force on Win10. We just learned to live with it, and learned to appreciate some of its features.
But I agree with geowilly . Why can't we keep the same/similar user interface, instead of going backwards?
In my experience, search has been less reliable in OneNote M365 than OneNote for Windows 10. I said as much in another comment on this thread back in April, when search stopped working after the Windows Search Service index got corrupted.
Today, however, I tried disabling and stopping the Windows Search Service, just to confirm that OneNote M365 is still using WSS. To my surprise, searching in OneNote continued to function, even without the service running.
Bola_Soneye, has this changed recently? Or am I just imaging things?
