Office 365 Bypassing Target Version Set In GPO
Hello! I am not sure if anyone else is running into this issue currently, but Office 365 on all of our machines decided to update themselves and change the Channel from Semi-Annual to Monthly Enterprise, seemingly bypassing the channel and target version we have set in our Office GPO. This just started happening on 7/8/22. It was fine before that time, and no changes were made on our end that would have started doing this.
All of our machines are receiving the policies just fine, Office is not abiding to them and updating to the latest. I did notice a post about how Microsoft did a rollback because of VBA macros, just not sure if this would have any effect on what I am currently experiencing.
Thanks!

forgetiii Hi, thanks for your post. Your organization was likely a part of the Update to Monthly Enterprise Channel campaign detailed here: Microsoft 365 Apps will be updated to Monthly Enterprise Channel on all your Office devices - Deploy Office | Microsoft Docs
If you did not opt-out of this campaign and want to undo the changes now, please share your tenantID over an email with me (dimehta@microsoft.com).
- forgetiiiCopper ContributorThank you for this, and I did not get any notification that this was going to happen.
If we were to stay with this campaign for now, but wanted to opt out of it in the future so we can gain control back if need be, would we be able to do so? Reason being that if for some reason that there is an Office update that breaks something, and we needed to roll back to a previous version we could.- dimehtaMicrosoftAbsolutely, we can help you get to the last known best build in case of any disruption due to an update, or help you undo the changes from this Campaign if you feel they are not appropriate for your organizational needs.
