why assign further mailboxes or sharepoint sites to a custodian?
Hi there,
in the moment I am studiing for the SC-400 certificate.
I discovered that I can add further data sources to a custodian, like SharePoint Sites or other Mailboxes. I am asking myself why I should do this or when? What is the benefit of it or the reason for it?

From my experience, adding further data sources to a custodian, such as SharePoint Sites or other Mailboxes, can be beneficial in eDiscovery cases when you need to preserve, collect, and review data from multiple sources associated with a specific individual or custodian.
During an eDiscovery, an associated data source with a custodian will make managing these sources much easier.
As to when to do it, it will be during your data governance/ eDiscovery design as this needs to be planned and documented.
