The correct way of doing eDiscovery for IM chats (Skype and Teams)

Hi,

Does anybody knows what are the differences between

"Message Kind" -criteria and message "Type"?

I'm trying to do eDiscovery search, but documentation is a bit confusing. Somewhere it is asked to type "MicrosoftTeams" and "IM" as "Message Kind" -criteria's. First is for Teams' chat, and second for Skype. But then there is also an option to select message "Type" as Instant Messaging"? Does that found something else than the previous criteria's?
