Users are no longer able to uninstall Chrome nor set Edge to Default on Work Profiles
This is a new issue because as of May of this year, I did not have this issue. We have setup the Chrome browser as an "Available" app in our Android app store. We also have setup the same. I have a personally owned work/personal enrolled device that never even had Chrome installed on the work profile.
Since installing Chrome in the work profile, sometime since May, I now cannot uninstall it. I am only able to uninstall the updates so Chrome is still there and still my default browser (on work profile). Even on a Samsung device that also does not come with Chrome, cannot uninstall Chrome.
I also have Edge installed and sync'd, yet cannot change my default browser as it says "Action blocked" yet we have no settings for system browsers in Intune nor have Edge setup as an App policy. We do not want to force a default browser.
Prior we could install whichever browser app our users wanted and they could choose their defaults. Now none of this is possible and we're forced to user Google.... on Microsoft managed devices.
When did this change? How do I remove Chrome and use Edge without now reconfiguring InTune?

Hello luvsql,
regarding setting edge as default browser is possible via AppPP. I have written this article and I think it will be helpful for you

regarding Chrome, can you share screenshot of the chrome App assignment?
because it should work if you assign the user group to “uninstall”!

- luvsqlSteel ContributorWe currently have an App Protection Policy which includes all Microsoft Apps (and Edge) already deployed. Since we have 200+ devices, I would really like to avoid having to add each user one by one into a group to get Chrome removed. Users should be able to install and uninstall whichever apps they choose that are setup as "Available."
The only way to get this to work is the user has to go into their phone's settings > apps > and under the work profile list, disable Chrome, then go to the default apps > work and set Edge as a default.
Something has changed as we did not have this issue a few months ago.
