Teams Phones - Disable Work Profile/App Assignments for Yealink
The latest update to our Yealink MP54's change how Intune handles the device, it's now treated like an Android Mobile where before it only cared if the device was compliant.
Now when a User signs in Intune pushes our Default Apps/work profile which is currently assigned to anyone Intune Licensed. For Example company portal will install or at least attempt to install Outlook once the device has been registered.
I've not found any documentation on best practices when it comes to Managing these devices within Intune. Is there a way of Intune allowing these phones to register but ignoring any App Assignments etc.

You probably want to create a dynamic device group in Azure AD that captures all these particular devices. For example, you can use “Device Category” per this link. Categorize things yourself and build dynamic groups around that when you apply this label.
Categorize devices into groupsThen you'd add this group as an exclusion to any Apps, Device Configuration Profiles or Device Compliance settings you don't want applied.
Alternatively, you could tighten the scope of your deployments to other more tailored groups instead of "All Users" or "All Devices". It's easy to just choose those catch-all groups, but there are many cases where you want to be more targeted in who gets what policy, as is the case in the situation you describe.
