Require Fingerprints For Android Personal Devices For Work?

Good day, was hoping I could get help with requiring setting up fingerprints on android to login to apps and Microsoft authenticator. Is this possible. I feel like it would be easier for a employee to setup without additional help if they just have to use one automatically instead of having to figure out how to setup a work fingerprint on their android by going into the settings themselves. Also for security issues in case someone is in public. That way they automatically require a fingerprint rather than typing in their password if there are prying eyes around. Even if it is not public, but just in the office, would be more secure so they don't have to put their password on their phone in around other employees. Is this a setting to setup in intune at all?

    Hi there!

Do you mean the users have to set up a fingerprint for the work apps? If so, that is meant to be like that by default. After that is done you can enable or disable biometrics log in. You can see more info here:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/intune/intune-service/configuration/device-restrictions-android-for-work?tabs=aepersonal

Note that some apps might not support biometrics unlock, in that case there's nothing much you can do.

NabilNahdi thank you for responding. I am only using Microsoft apps that have the ability to use fingerprints, I just didn't set the fingerprints up on the device. When I open Authenticaor or Excel, instead of asking for fingerprint, it asks for pin that I created. I would like it to require me and any other user to create and use a fingerprint on my phones work profile.

I think that might be a device specific setting, can you check if you can turn on biometrics on Android, an option similar to> verify is me on the apps using: fingerprint. Of course you will have to set the fingerprint first.
