Remove the New Outlook toggle button

Please advise if there is a way to remove the New Outlook toggle button from the outlook app in intune?

      Unfortunately, this method does not work. The new outlook toogle button is still visible despite the configuration profile ran successfully.
      • This policy setting will surpress the option to switch, but it won't hide the toggle. when a user activates the toggle, the user will encounter an (expected) error message.
        there's also a per mailbox-level setting available through "set-casmailbox -identity <mail> -OneWinNativeOutlookEnabled $false" which disables the option to switch.
        In oder to hide the toggle, the regkey is the way to go.

    Hi blippie,

    you can try to use PowerShell script in Intune to remove the New Outlook toggle button from the outlook app (using HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General DWORD: HideNewOutlookToggle Value: 1 registry key)

    You can copy/past the script and save it as for example: AddOutlookRegistry.ps1

    $RegistryPath = "HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General"
    $RegistryName = "HideNewOutlookToggle"
    $RegistryValue = 1

    if (-not (Test-Path -Path $RegistryPath)) {
        New-Item -Path $RegistryPath -Force
    }

    New-ItemProperty -Path $RegistryPath -Name $RegistryName -Value $RegistryValue -PropertyType DWORD -Force

    Intune Deployment:

    1. Sign in to the Intune portal.
    2. Go to "Apps" > "All apps."
    3. Click "Add" and choose "Windows app (Win32)."
    4. Upload AddOutlookRegistry.ps1 as the app package.
    5. Set the install command to: powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File AddOutlookRegistry.ps1
    6. Leave the uninstall command, detection rules, and detection method fields empty.
    7. Assign the app to the desired device or user groups.

    This script will add the specified registry key and value for each user on the target devices through Intune.

      LeonPavesic I tried to add ps1 file and it won't allow me upload it. It needs to be in intunewin file, so not sure how you able to upload other than intunewin file when it comes to win32 app.

      Mathg76  Thanks but I don't seem to have that option. Really trying to see if it can be done through intune. Perhaps a poweshell that will disable it and use script to deploy in intune.
