Hybrid Azure AD Join Device Name
Is this the only way we could set the device name for HAAD Joined devices?

We cannot prefix for laptops or desktops here? Whatever the assigned name is what we have to take it? Is that how it is?

Not with autopilot natively.
I started with the autopilot branding script from here: https://oofhours.com/2020/05/18/two-for-one-updated-autopilot-branding-and-update-os-scripts/
The updateos one also works perfectly. I created a script to detect after the esp page and then rename the device after the user signs in with the username and depending prefix a letter depending on whether it is a laptop or desktop. Our business still demands it.
