How do I get a HWID for a new device before Autopilot
I would like to get the HWID for a new device just taking out of the box and also for Surface devices, How do I do it?
Second question how do I autopilot a Surface device is it similar to how we do the laptops and any special things I need to know.

At the moment I collect the HWID at the diagnostic page and copy the file to a usb drive.

Autopilot provisioning is not model or manufacturer dependent. You can capture the hardwareid during the OOBE using PS cmdlets. You have the option to export to a usb or upload it directly to the tenant using the -online switch.
