Dell Firmware Very Slow to Appear in Intune Driver Updates

Intune does not import firmware from Dell’s download page. Driver update policies orchestrate updates through Windows Update and Autopatch; Windows Update determines applicability from device hardware, and the OEM or publisher must publish and classify the update there. On an affected 5520, force a Windows Update scan and confirm Microsoft update endpoints are reachable. In Intune, verify device is assigned to the driver policy, diagnostic data is allowed, and review its driver report. If version 1.51.0 is absent there, no Intune approval can expose it. Give Microsoft and Dell the model, system SKU, current BIOS, target version, policy ID, and report evidence so they can trace the offer metadata. For immediate remediation, package Dell’s signed standalone updater as an Intune Win32 app, use system context and a firmware-version detection rule, then pilot a small group before broad deployment. This avoids installing Dell Command Update while the catalog issue is investigated.
