Call for perspectives: Endpoint Management Experiences of IT Professionals Survey

Sharing a view from the small IT team side, with a disclosure: I work on TFalke, a Windows endpoint management tool, so I have a bias.

A pattern that seems common when managing Windows devices today:

• Intune handles baseline policy and compliance well, but anything urgent (a stuck install, a service that needs restarting, a script to run now) waits for the device check-in, and the portal tends to show what was requested more than what actually happened on the device.
• The day-to-day toolbox ends up being several things at once: MDM for policy, a remote desktop tool, PowerShell remoting for one-off fixes, and a patch tool.
• Guidance mostly comes from communities like this one, blogs, and trial and error on a test group, which is a lot to piece together in the first years of the job.

On AI, the version that seems most useful to newer admins is not a chatbot that suggests steps, but one that diagnoses a problem and fixes it, for example turning "the print spooler is stuck on this PC" into a command that runs in seconds and reports back whether it worked. That is what we built TFalke around (commands over a persistent connection, free for the first 10 devices), and every command is shown for approval before it runs.

It would be good to hear how others handle urgent fixes that cannot wait for the check-in cycle.
